i dont understand. could you explain how to tell wen a new chinese year starts? Like ever 4th lunar whatever, or every idk.... its so confusing, and even more so cause a friend of mine told me that the chinese new year doesnt always land on the same times/dates, like how ours is january 1st every time.
this is very complex about your question, the chinese spring festival is the one of "jie qi"[节气]in the whole year. "jie qi" the mean is a day marking one of the 24 divisions of the solar year in the traditional Chinese calendar. "jie qi" starts from 5000 years ago in China according to cultivation of crops to sum up the regular pattern. passe long years we sum up 24 division of the solar year, the "spring festival" is the first one of the "jie qi" in the whole year, show the new year is begin. so the day of "spring festival" is the 1st day in Chinese calendar year to me.
my English is very pool...I hope you can understand - -|||
